{"id":2600,"date":"2022-06-27T15:01:52","date_gmt":"2022-06-27T19:01:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/coastalhaitimission.org\/?page_id=2600"},"modified":"2022-12-04T11:25:05","modified_gmt":"2022-12-04T16:25:05","slug":"may-june-2022-newsletter","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/coastalhaitimission.org\/?page_id=2600","title":{"rendered":"May\/June 2022 Newsletter"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h1 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Coastal Haiti Mission Newsletter<\/strong><\/h1>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h1 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>May\/June 2022<\/strong><\/h1>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\">IN SYNC<\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>\u201cAnd we know that all things work together for good to them that<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 love God, to them who are the called according to His purpose.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 -Rom. 8:28 KJV<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Notice that it does not say that \u201call things work for good,\u201d but that all things work TOGETHER for good\u2026\u201d\u00a0 There is a difference.\u00a0 A cake, for instance, has many ingredients: eggs, flour, baking powder, baking soda flavoring, etc.\u00a0 I\u2019m sure you get my point.\u00a0 The ingredients work <em>together <\/em>to produce a good cake.<\/p>\n<p>According to Scripture, things that happen to those who love God and are called according to His purpose work <em>together<\/em> for our good, aiding in our transformation toward the image of Christ.<\/p>\n<p>Another thing that works together is the family.\u00a0 Let\u2019s look first at the husband.\u00a0 A man is to love his wife in a sacrificial way.\u00a0 The kind of love that Christ has for His Church (Eph.5:25),\u00a0 He is to be unselfish and protective over her and make it his business to be aware and attentive to her needs and desires.\u00a0 He needs to honor her as the physically weaker of the two, while remembering that she is his equal as his fellow heir of the grace of life (1 Pet. 3:7)\u00a0 It is within his power to <em>make <\/em>or <em>break <\/em>her in her journey to becoming the best that she can be as a woman, wife, and mother.<\/p>\n<p>As a father, he should rear his children tenderly <em>\u201cin the training and discipline and <\/em><em>the counsel and admonition of the Lord\u201d <\/em>(Eph. 6:4).\u00a0 He should not push them into frustration or resentment by allowing his own anger to cause him to punish his children unjustly. He should not make it \u201chard\u201d for them to obey him.\u00a0 Both he and his wife should seek to recognize each child\u2019s <em>\u201cbent,\u201d <\/em>their natural God-given inclination or tendencies, and encourage and nurture further development of those talents.<\/p>\n<p>Children are called upon to honor and obey their parents in the Lord <em>\u201cas His <\/em><em>representatives\u201d <\/em>(Eph. 6:1&amp;2)<\/p>\n<p>Now, let\u2019s get to the wife.\u00a0 She is to love her husband and allow him to be the head of his household.\u00a0 She needs him to make major decisions concerning the welfare of the family <em>AFTER <\/em>consulting\u00a0 with her, thereby gaining and taking into consideration her wisdom and prospective on the matter.\u00a0 If she also has a career, that too, would be a significant consideration. She needs to submit all of her concerns to him and make sure he knows exactly how she feels.\u00a0 (She may just save him from making a ruinous move!) After prayer and out of love and consideration for his wife\u2019s input, and wanting the best for his family, he will make an educated decision on the matter.\u00a0 And, of course, there will be times when his wife will need to trust God and acquiesce to her husband\u2019s decisions, understanding his need to protect and lead.\u00a0 As his helpmate she should support, comfort, and encourage him and <em>\u201cdo him only good\u201d <\/em>(Prov. 31:12).<\/p>\n<p>The wife also needs to love and care for the daily needs of their children.\u00a0 If she has business outside of the home she must secure the welfare of the children during the time she is away.\u00a0 Finally, each member of the family should show love and respect for one another, each one treating the other with compassion and fairness.\u00a0 If each member does his or her part \u2013 <em><u>working TOGETHER for good \u2013 <\/u><\/em>the family will be on solid ground, and home will be a safe and welcoming place.<\/p>\n<p>So there it is \u2013 God\u2019s plan for the family according to my understanding of His Holy Word.<\/p>\n<p>In our society today the divorce rate is higher than ever.\u00a0 Families are broken up, the marriage desecrated, and the home life destroyed.\u00a0 Men and women are left reeling and disappointed.\u00a0 Children try to make sense of a situation way beyond their ability to understand.\u00a0 It\u2019s like the whole family is in \u201cfree fall.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>We really need to do it God\u2019s way.\u00a0 You think?<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Walking this Way with intense enough word, to convey our thanks to you, who contributed your support to the people in the Village of Cahess. This includes our people with no income, and also the people who were hit so badly by the devastating rain last January, that washed away all their gardens.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Also, we don&#8217;t have a way of showing the good and positive effect of the money that you sent to us. This year, I was so amazed to see how our kids love their teachers. Many of them bring a gift to their teachers. There was joy on their faces as they hand the gifts to their teachers.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>After observing this, I realized how genius and good it is to invest love into children. Some day, they will show that love to others. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Their acts prove to me how much they understand the sacrifice of other people, to care about them.
