It was a display of a multitude of baby chicks crammed in together inside a large incubator.\u00a0 Clearly traumatized, the tiny creatures appeared panicked. Making the sound that baby chicks make, they ran to-and-fro trying to get \u201csomewhere, \u201d but unable to get \u201canywhere,\u201d crashing into and climbing upon one another. One was impaired and lying still while being pecked on by another to the point of laceration.<\/p>\n<p>Something was definitely wrong with this picture.\u00a0 Throngs of visitors stopped at the site, watched for awhile and then moved on to another exhibition seemingly unmoved.\u00a0 (Was I the only one who witnessed their plight?)\u00a0 It was truly a man-made situation \u2013 not meant to be.\u00a0 The main cause of the chicks\u2019 distress?\u00a0 Mother Hen was missing,<\/p>\n<p>A broody hen can handle an average of 11-12 chicks, according to her own size.<\/p>\n<p>(Some can handle as many as 14.)\u00a0 The main consideration is how many chicks can she accommodate beneath her wings, their place of warmth and protection. Looking at it from their point of view, these little critters were frightfully on their own.<\/p>\n<p>Jesus saw people like these little chicks one time.\u00a0 Referencing Jerusalem and her people, He longed to lend them His protection.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong><em>\u201c\u2026How often would I have gathered thy children together, even<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong><em>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong><em>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 not!\u201d\u00a0 <\/em><\/strong>Matt. 23:37 KJV<\/p>\n<p>Broken people in a broken world. Rushing to-and-fro to make their mark, climbing over each others\u2019 back for position and recognition. Wanting to be heard, but refusing to listen.\u00a0 Killing the prophets and stoning those sent to help them.<\/p>\n<p>He could save them.\u00a0 He wanted to, but then again, it was up to them.\u00a0 But He would carry their transgressions (sins) to the cross with Him, anyway.\u00a0 He would hang there, the Sacred Head now wounded, beaten beyond recognition. Crushed by their sin \u2013 and yours&#8217; &#8211; and mine. But death could not hold him.\u00a0 Halleluiah!\u00a0 He is alive forevermore.\u00a0 And He wants to gather all of His chicks under His protective wings!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <em>&#8220;How precious is Your steadfast love, O God!\u00a0 The children of<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong><em>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 men take refuge and put their trust under the shadow of Your<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong><em>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 wings.&#8221;<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong><em>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 <\/em><\/strong><strong>&#8211; Psalm 36:7 TAB<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Walking this way with you,<\/p>\n<p>Connie<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><strong>3<sup>rd<\/sup> Village Food Distribution<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><strong>Pastor Coty Writes:<br \/>\nWe are blessed, we are blessed, yes, the people of the Village of Cahess are blessed. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>We pray to God and ask Him to give us each day, our daily bread. When things get too difficult for us, we ask: where will our help come from? <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>But God always makes a way for us. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>The Coastal Haiti Mission (CHM) ministry in the Village of Cahess does more than what people would expect.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>In many countries, when things get very bad, people count on the government to help. In Haiti that would be a big mistake. If you count on our government, \u00a0you won&#8217;t get anything. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Supporting the people in Cahess is a way to keep them alive.<br \/>\nWhen I look back to see how much the Family and Friends of CHM have <\/strong><strong>blessed us, and how much they have cared for us, I can&#8217;t find enough words to thank them. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Now, I can say that people are really recovering from the flood. As far as I know, our village is the only village that is really recovering from the loses caused by the flood. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>This is because the food distributions we held in Cahess, have been a huge help, and have really made the difference. With this food we really met the people&#8217;s need. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>We were able to give a bag of rice to each family in the village. Most of these families had flood losses. For most of the families, this was the first time they were ever able to get a whole bag of rice. This is because they normally do not have enough money, to buy a whole bag of rice at one time. Things like: books, chalk,\u00a0 notebooks etc&#8230; <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>There is also additional \u00a0preparation that takes place, which is very important to the School of Cahess, especially to the students. \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>A young man named Mackendy, plays a big part in every school day, in our school. He is the one who carries the rice and beans and everything else needed for the school meal. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>He even brings the firewood from the depot to the open kitchen, in the school yard. The kids who live close to the school, always look for Mackendy, even before they look for their teachers. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>We praise God that we always have a Mackendy for every school day in Cahess. He may be sick or late sometimes, but we always have someone else to replace him when he is not available. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>This is because of God&#8217;s grace, which is provided through you, our supporters, that we always have enough food for every school day. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>We are exceeding grateful to you, the Family and Friends of Coastal Haiti Today I took some food to her family. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>She did not know that I was going to visit her or her family, and when I got there, she did not realize the reason for my visit. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>I can say that, I got there just in time, because I could see that she was desperate. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>After receiving the food, She said: &#8220;For sure, God hears prayers.&#8221; <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Cleanne &#8216;s Husband had just gone to take care of the animals but he had no hope that he would get something to eat that night. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>She said: &#8220;my husband will be amazed when he comes back, because a minute before he left, he was complaining about what we will eat tonight.&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>The food for the Needy Program makes me look like The Good Samaritan. However, you our supporters, share equally in this role. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Food to the hungry people and Hope for the hopeless ones.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Thank you Family and Friends of Coastal Haiti Mission.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Pastor Coty.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<h3><strong>The Home Lighting Project<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><strong>Pastor Coty Writes:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>The light project is a life changing effort. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>The old lady, shown in the photos below, is very excited to see the big difference the light makes in her house. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>At first, she thought that this light was just a flashlight. But after it was connected to the wall, she could not believe her eyes. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>She has a two room house. We put a mounting plate in each room, so she can easily move the light from room to room. The light illuminates each room like it is the daytime. Now, she can see everything in her room easily. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #008000;\"><strong>I want to point out to our supporters, that these lights are a huge blessing for the people in our village. <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #008000;\"><strong>Finally, our people live in the light. <\/strong><\/span><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong><em>( Applies only to the people who have a light<\/em><\/strong><strong>. <em>We still need to provide lights to many families)<\/em> <em>Project leaders note.<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>You cannot imagine how many accidents have happened; how many times the people hit their feet or their heads, just because their homes are dark. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>In a country where kerosene for lamps is very expensive, and very hard to find, most of the people in the village go to bed very early at night, because they live in a completely dark situation. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #008000;\"><strong>So, the light project is very helpful to us in the village.
