Just yesterday she was going about her business and looking forward to the day she would marry her sweetheart, Joseph, a just and upright man.\u00a0 But even Joseph would not understand when the time came for her to tell him she was with child.\u00a0 (She was a virgin for goodness sake!) Her child, she was told by her Holy visitor, would be a boy, and he would be called <em>\u201cSon Of the Most High\u201d <\/em>and <em>\u201cSon Of God.\u201d\u00a0 <\/em>He would <em>\u201csave His people from their sins [that is, prevent their failing and missing the true end and scope of life, which is God.\u201d] <\/em>(Matt. 1:21 TAB )\u00a0 She was to name him <em>\u201cJESUS.\u201d<\/em> \u201cHow can this be,\u201d she asked the angel ?\u201d\u00a0 She\u2019d had no intimacy with a man \u2013 ever.\u00a0 <em>\u201cThe Holy Spirit will come upon you,\u201d <\/em>he answered, <em>\u201cand the power of the Most High will overshadow you. (Luke 1:35 TAB)<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">And Mary wondered<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">and believed.<\/p>\n<p>Soon after her experience with the angel, Mary visited her Aunt Elizabeth who was\u00a0 with child in her old age.\u00a0 Upon greeting her visitor, Elizabeth said the child within her \u201cleaped\u201d in her womb, and then, right then and there, she prophesied concerning Mary\u2019s yet-to-be-born child.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px; text-align: center;\"><em>\u201cBlessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb&#8230; <\/em><em>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 (Luke 1:42 KJV)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">And Mary wondered<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">and believed.<\/p>\n<p>Well, the time came, and Joseph had his own angelic visitation.\u00a0 Satisfied that Mary had not been unfaithful, he took her to his side as his wife, but union with her would wait until after the birth of her son. Mary gave birth in a less-than-immaculate stable in Bethlehem, assisted by her husband.\u00a0 No physician, no nurse, no midwife, no fanfare. (My Lord, He was a King!)\u00a0 They named him JESUS.\u00a0 Mary must have pondered as she held him to her breast: <em>\u201cMy sweet little boy \u2013 Who are you?\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>\u00a0<\/em>And Mary wondered<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">and believed.<\/p>\n<p>When the\u00a0 shepherds appeared on the scene and told of an <em>\u201carmy of the troops of heaven \u2013 a heavenly knighthood\u201d <\/em>(Luke 2:15 TAB) had filled the air with praise to God and wonderful tidings concerning the infant child lying in her arms, she must have wondered: <em>\u201cMy lovely son \u2013 who are you\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>\u00a0<\/em>And Mary wondered<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">and believed.<\/p>\n<p>When the time came for the baby to be dedicated according to the Law Of Moses, the family of three went up to Jerusalem for the occasion.\u00a0 While there in the Temple enclosure they were met by Simeon, an old man,\u201crighteous and devout\u201d who had been \u201ccautiously and carefully observing the divine law and looking for the Consolation of Israel.\u201d\u00a0 He had been told by the Holy Spirit that he would not die until he saw the Lord\u2019s Christ, the Messiah, the Anointed One.\u201d\u00a0 (Luke 2:25- 26 TAB) Simeon \u201cknew\u201d he was to go to the Temple that day.\u00a0 Something \u201cin the air,\u201d A holiness permeating the atmosphere, perhaps.\u00a0 He\u2019d had the feeling before.\u00a0 He took the baby in his arms, praised and thanked his God, and then prophesied regarding the child.\u00a0 And he knew he would soon depart this world.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">And Mary wondered<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">and believed<\/p>\n<p>Not much is known about Jesus when he was a lad, a time for growing and learning.\u00a0 But there is one occasion recorded in the Bible that took place when he was 12 years of age.\u00a0 Joseph and Mary were frantic.\u00a0 Their son was missing! They had come to Jerusalem for the Feast of Passover, commemorating the deliverance of God\u2019s people from the death angel that passed over Egypt. When it was time to return home, Joseph and Mary joined the others in the caravan traveling back to Nazareth.\u00a0 They assumed their son had also joined the caravan and was mixing it up with kinsfolk and other acquaintances on the journey.\u00a0 But after searching for a day without success, they left the caravan and hurried back to Jerusalem.\u00a0 They finally found their son in the Temple Court, sitting with the teachers who were absolutely astonished at the young boy\u2019s intelligence and understanding.\u00a0 His parents were amazed, but Mary couldn\u2019t help but scold.\u00a0 \u201c<em>Child<\/em>,\u201d she said, <em>\u201cWhy have you treated us like this?\u00a0 Here <\/em><em>your father and I have been anxiously looking for you \u2013distressed and torment<\/em><em>ed!\u00a0 <\/em>(Luke 2:48 TAB)\u00a0\u00a0 The boy looked at his mother.\u00a0 \u201c<em>Why were you looking <\/em><em>for me?\u201d <\/em>he asked\u2026 And then: <strong><em>\u201cWist ye not that I must be about my Father\u2019s <\/em><\/strong><strong><em>business?\u201d <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong><em>\u00a0\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>And Mary wondered<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">and believed.<\/p>\n<p>Jesus left home at about age 30. He preached about the Kingdom of God, healed the sick, and cast out demons, setting the captives free.\u00a0 Approximately three years passed, and it was time for Him to leave this planet.\u00a0 His captors knew no mercy.\u00a0 He hung in anguish on a wooden cross set up for criminals.\u00a0 He was cursed, mocked, and tormented.\u00a0 Darkness spread over the earth.\u00a0 Legions of angels were silent.\u00a0 It had to \u201cbe.\u201d <em>\u201cFather,\u201d <\/em>he said, <em>\u201cInto Thy hands I commend my spirit,\u201d<\/em>And then He was gone. The earth quaked.\u00a0 The curtain in the Temple was rent.\u00a0 The crowd left. His mother wept, <em>\u201cMy Son, my Son, who are you?\u201d\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">And Mary remembered<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">And believed.<\/p>\n<p>Walking this Way with you, Connie<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><strong>The Christmas Party<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><strong>We are very grateful that the Christmas Party, which will take place on January 1, 2022, has been paid for due to the generosity of the Family and Friends of CHM.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>The children will, for at least one day, be able to eat all they are able to eat, and forget the poverty that they live with, other days of the year.<\/strong><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>We will report on the Christmas Party in the January 2022 CHM Newsletter.<\/strong><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>We say Thank You, Thank You, and Thank You again.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong> <strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Food for the Needy Program<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><strong>Pastor Coty Writes:<\/strong> <strong>This is the end of the year again, and we were glad to share food to every mother in the church.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>In Haitian tradition, we celebrate Christmas in the new year, (January 1st and 2nd).<br \/>\n<\/strong> <strong>People who live in the country in Villages such as \u00a0Cahess, always wait to January second, to make a good meal with Rice and Beans, and meat, mostly chicken, to start off the new year.<\/strong><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>On January the 1<sup>st<\/sup>, we just eat a soup called joumo, and then wait for the next day to have the celebration meal. It is a time where people send food, to show their\u00a0 love to their neighbor.<\/strong><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>With the support of many of you through CHM, we were able to share food to every mother in the Church. Even during the middle of the year, we are receiving new children into the school. \u00a0Some children do not meet the academic requirements, but I admit them, because I know why they come.<br \/>\nWe specify for the preschool class, that the children be at least 4 years old. However, people are sending their kids, when they are only 3 years old. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Education is good for everyone, but in a country like mine, a good education program is not enough. Instead, the Cyclops light will need to be brought to a Central Charging Station.<\/strong><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Therefore, we are providing an Electric Grid Powered Charger, with the capacity to charge, 60 Cyclops lights, simultaneously. <\/strong> <strong>We are also providing the electric cords to connect the charger to the lights.\u00a0 <\/strong><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Brother Monel, under Pastor Coty\u2019s direction, will create and organize the charging station, and find a person to operate the charging station.<\/strong><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>We are raising funds to continue this lighting program. Now, we are building 2 more classrooms.\u00a0 We built one last year for <\/strong><strong>grade 7. When we are finished, we will have new classrooms for grades 7,8, and 9. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>The 6th grade still meets in another house near where my parents live. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>During construction, the 9th grade is meeting in a small, hot and dark room. Many times, I take them outside under the mango trees.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>As I was gathering some concrete blocks to start the new classrooms, I invited the kids to come and help me. I was very encouraged to see how they wanted to participate in building the new classroom.
