– HOME –
Home. That place that is ours. May it be grand or humble it is our special place of refuge. A sanctuary of sorts, a shelter from the world. Well, at least that’s what it should be anyway.
In a book published by E.B. Treat in the late 1800s, Mother, Home and Heaven, listen to what Samuel D. Burchard D.D. said about the Christian home:
“It is where the heart is, where the loved ones are — husband, wife,
father, mother, brothers, sisters, [are] all united in sympathy, fellow-
ship and worship. It may be humble, unpretentious, exhibiting no sign
of material wealth; but there is a wealth of mutual affection, which fire
cannot consume, and no commercial disaster eliminate or destroy, and
this is home – the home of childhood, the elysian [ideal bliss/happiness]
of ripe years, the refuge of age.”
Sounds pretty good, doesn’t it? Those growing up in such an environment are bound to grow up with security and strength of character. But, unfortunately, many homes are chaotic and many children are victims of neglect and family dissent. Though many of these children can and do rise to places of eminence and prominence, it is a much harder “climb.”
But home is “home” no matter what – but don’t hold on too tight. Our hearts go out to the folks in California and North Carolina who have lost their homes and everything in them. Some by a hurricane and flood and others by raging fire. Many have lost loved ones or pets, all gone in one moment. May our God bring comfort and hope to those in sorrow, and may He restore fortune and beauty to those charred lands.
We live in a dangerous world – danger with many faces. We are at risk and our homes are at risk. The tribulation Jesus spoke of is here. It has always been here. But He has overcome the world and we need not be afraid. If you are a Christian your future is golden! Jesus is coming again to bring his family home. Yes, Home!
An everlasting home; no death, no tears, none of the ravages of sin. The coolest place we’ll ever be!
“In my Father’s house there are many dwelling places (homes). If it
were not so, I would have told you, for I am going away to prepare
a place for you. And when (if) I go and make ready a place for you,
I will come back again and will take you to Myself, that where I am
you may be also.” (John 14:2-3 TAB)
One of those rooms He is preparing will be for you if you are a member of His family. Meanwhile, as we await His coming, walk with your head held high.
Remember, you are royalty, a child of the King. And Jesus said He will never, ever, leave us. We got this!
If you are an unbeliever, you need to take a look at some grave consequences you will face, one being the loss of eternal life with the God Who sent His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ to take the rap for your sins. If you conclude that the
Babe in the manger, and the God on the cross is worthy of your trust, and if you believe He is the Son of God, then one of those rooms He is working on will have your name on it, and, hopefully, the names of your loved ones as they align their lives with yours as you follow the Master Jesus. What do you have to lose?
Everything. What do you have to gain? Everything.
Walking this Way with you,
Connie
New Year’s Eve Celebrations
Pastor Coty Writes:
During New Year’s Eve, while many people are celebrating in the cities, the people in the village do it differently.
All the village people meet at the church.
Some to thank God for the past year, and to ask for his blessing for the coming year.
Others come to church because they are frightened.
There is a belief among some people, that the devil eats many people during the end of the year. So even though they are not believers, they come to the church. They bring things so they can spend the night there, so the devil doesn’t eat them.
We have a service from 7:00 P.M. to 12:01 A.M., so these people hear the Gospel while they are with us.
The Children’s Party in Cahess
Pastor Coty Writes
From Independence Day to Children’s Day in Cahess, January first is a day that we are always waiting for.
For the benefit of many, we always organize our Christmas Party to be after Christmas, and on January 1st.
For this occasion, we always try to prepare for 400 children. This is the only meeting they will attend on this special day.
Our children’s classes on Saturday have a usual attendance of around 90 children. The attendance grows to about 120 as the day of the Children’s Party approaches.
However, at the Children’s Party, we always have around 400 children, because they come from every corner, and every tribe to eat and receive a special gift.
It is our way of helping them to celebrate life, by having a very good time together, as we begin the New Year
This year again we had a good time with the children. The photos will explain more.
The School Lunch Program
Pastor Coty Writes:
After the Christmas break, we are glad to come back to school and to do our routine.
It was good and memorable to hear some students say:
school is back and also the food is back, as they check the kitchen.
Like I said before, the Kids in the village are always happy to come to school.
However, it is really for the lunch program. They are right in thinking this way, because nobody can live without food.
They know that they won’t find food at home everyday, so they are very dependent on the School Lunch Program.
We are very grateful for your support.

Food for the Needy Program
Pastor Coty Writes:
In a village where everyone lives one day at a time, whenever you have something to share, you always try to select the best choice, which in most cases is the most needy.
When you give something to some of these very needy people, they receive it as a gift from God.
We are glad to share some rice with the women shown in the photos. Each one of them is the head of a family.
You can see them leaving with a bag of rice, but you cannot imagine the joy and the happiness of their families, when they see them coming home with that bag of rice.
This is an example of what you are accomplishing, when you provide food for these needy people in our village.
Thank you and God bless you.
Pastor Coty Joseph
Proverbs 14: 31
Whoever oppresses the poor shows contempt for their Maker, but whoever is kind to the needy honors God.
A prayer for you from the scripture:
Psalms 67: 1
May God be gracious to you and bless you
and make His face to shine upon you
